CHAPTER 13

You will repay a portion of your debts over a three to five year plan.

Chapter 13 is called the Wage Earner's Bankruptcy or Individual Debt Adjustment and is the only choice for individuals with an income over the $45,000-$50,000 limit.

Under Chapter 13 you have 3 to 5 years to pay off a portion of your debts after which the remainder are wiped out. The amount that is being paid off can be as little as 20% of the payments that are being made before the bankruptcy is filed. At the end of your 3 or 5 year plan any balance on those debts is wiped out.

You will not lose any property if you complete the plan.
